AUDIT AND ASSURANCE
Our audit approach is team oriented with partners and managers actively involved in all stages of the audit. We also strive to work with management throughout this process in order to achieve a common understanding of the entity being audited, and the appropriate audit procedures to be implemented. This results in an effective and efficient high quality audit that meets the needs and expectations of all parties.
Also, where possible, we seek to access initial client information electronically (e.g. via email or facilities such as Dropbox) in order to perform as much planning and high level initial audit work as possible before sending the audit team to the client’s premises. We have found that this greatly enhances the efficiency of the audit process, as it results in the client being aware of the information that the audit team will require before they arrive, so that they can prepare accordingly. This approach also significantly reduces the risk of unproductive audit staff time being charged to the assignment.
We provide a range of taxation services to meet client requirements. These include (but are not limited to):-

Providing advice on Lesotho tax legislation (Income Tax, VAT and PAYE) to clients who require such services either to obtain general information on such legislation, including its practical implementation, or who have questions on specific tax issues.

Advising and acting on behalf of clients who have specific problems in respect of issues/assessments raised by the Lesotho Revenue Authority (LRA).

Attending to the tax registration of new businesses with LRA for Income Tax, VAT and PAYE, as and when required.

Providing ongoing assistance in the preparation and submission of various tax returns (e.g. monthly VAT and PAYE returns; quarterly Fringe Benefit Tax returns; annual Company and/or Individual Income Tax returns; annual PAYE returns; periodic Withholding Tax certificates).

Applying for, and obtaining Tax Clearance certificates, including investigating and advising on required remedial action where the issuing of such certificates is withheld by LRA.
TAXATION SERVICES
We provide a range of consulting services to meet client requirements. These include (but are not limited to):-

Assisting with the registration of Lesotho incorporated companies and Lesotho external companies (i.e. branches of foreign companies).

Assisting with the registration of Lesotho registered partnerships, joint-ventures or consortiums.

Assisting in the obtaining of Trading Licenses and Work Permits.

Performing investigations into suspected accounting irregularities.

Performing due diligence reviews on company financial forecasts, share issue prospectus documentation, etc.

Acting as administrators or liquidators of distressed entities.

Performing special purpose financial consulting assignments, based on specific client instructions.
CONSULTING SERVICES
We provide a range of accounting services to meet client requirements. These include (but are not limited to):-

Preparation of annual financial statements from client prepared trial balance (including accountant’s compilation report).

Review of annual financial statements and agreement with client prepared supporting records (including independent reviewer report).

Preparation of annual financial statements from client prepared primary accounting records (where no General Ledger is maintained by client).

Preparation of annual financial statements from incomplete records.

Maintaining prime entry accounting records for small entities, and generating extended trial balance as a basis for the preparation of annual financial statements.

Performing special assignment accounting work based on the client’s particular needs.
Whilst we do perform a certain amount of bookkeeping work, we do not see this as our primary function (there are other specialist bookkeepers who are capable of performing such work at more competitive rates).
